During my PhD I am exploring how ostriches are adapted to thrive in both high and low temperatures. In their natural habitat in African savannahs, they experience both very high and below freezing temperatures. I am investigating which genes are important for young ostriches in dealing with this as they grow. For this I use genomic methods and physiological data.
