Mikkel Aagaard Houmark is a postdoc at the Department of Economics and Business Economics. He is also a research fellow at TrygFonden's Centre for Child Research. He holds a PhD in Economics from Aarhus University (2023).
Mikkel's research focuses on understanding the determinants of social inequality. In particular, he is interested in understanding the influences in the childhood environment - such as parents and teachers - that causally impact human capital formation, broadly understood to encompass our different skills, personalities, and well-being. His research is also concerned with how genetic factors influence development, and how nurture and nature interact in shaping our traits and behavior.
