Nicola's research focuses on applied microeconomics, particularly collective decision-making, bargaining, institutions, and social norms. Moreover, she studies public economics and political economy topics such as local public finance, voter behavior, and legislators' incentives. Her research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Political Economy, the European Economic Review, and Games and Economic Behavior.
Nicola teaches the Master’s course "Advanced Microeconomics" and "Microeconomics 2" in the math.oecon. program. She supervises Bachelor's and Master’s students in various areas of applied microeconomics.
