I am a PhD student and I do research on psychiatric disorders, particularly Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). In my work, I am interested in investigating the effects of cognitive behavioral therapy in youths with OCD. I have previously worked as a licensed clinical psychologist in psychiatry. There, I have assessed and treated adults with anxiety, OCD, and PTSD, as well as comorbid conditions such as ADHD, depression, and substance use disorders.
I conduct research on psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents, with a particular focus on the area of OCD. Using quantitative studies, the goal of my research is to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy in a group format. The aim of my research is to contribute to a better understanding of the treatment of young people with OCD in a group setting, as well as to expand the current treatment options for youths with OCD within the psychiatry.
I teach about assessment of ADHD at the medicine program at Aarhus University. Additionally, I teach psychiatric staff, including nurses and psychologists, about cognitive behavioral therapy for OCD, anxiety, and comorbid conditions. I have written a chapter in a textbook on behavioral experiments, as well as a chapter on OCD in a textbook about cognitive behavioral therapy. Furthermore, I have published articles on OCD in the journal iPraksis in the journal Månedsskiftet for almen praksis.
My primary responsibility is to disseminate the research we conduct on the treatment of young people with OCD within the psychiatry. This primarily occurs through teaching, scientific articles, and communication in non-scientific journals. I also contribute to the assessment and evaluation of symptom severity in young people with OCD who participate in research projects at the Research Unit, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department, AUH Psychiatry.
