My focus is to investigate the role of the VPS10P domain receptors in neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodegenerative diseases using organoids derived from human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (hiPSCs). My research specifically aims at identifying common mechanisms that are altered during the early and late stages of the disease, by examining gene expression changes in diseased and healthy patient-derived cerebral cells.
Available Projects
Projects on neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodegenerative diseases using stem cells are currently available for Master's and Erasmus students. PhD projects are also available (previous grant approval). If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.
Currently, I teach in the Neuroscience course for Medical students at the Bachelor´s and Master´s level.
I also supervise Master´s and PhD students during their practical projects within the areas of Neuroscience and Neurodegenerative diseases.
