As a PhD student I am a part of the diverse section for Agricultural Systems and Sustainability at AU. My curiosity covers all aspects of sustainability transitions, both within and beyond the agrifood sector.
I aim to engage in interdisciplinary research, with an educational background in the natural sciences but now focusing primarily on qualitative and mixed methodologies.
Greenwashing or sustainability driver? I am interested in how corporate ESG reporting activities, and the associated value-chain data collection, can be leveraged to accelerate the green transition within the agrifood sector rather than merely accompany it. This involves examining themes such as the harmonization of value chain data collection, transparency, questions of accountability and the integration of sustainability metrics that can drive sector-wide change and improved decision-making.
This is closely connected with current sustainability initiatives like regenerative agriculture and carbon farming. Within this scope, I am actively involved in the EU MARVIC project, which seeks to develop harmonized MRV systems for carbon farming activities across the EU.
I am involved in teaching activites in a MSc course on Agricultural Policies and Environmental Regulation and in a BSc course on Organic Food Systems.
