Profile

Frederik Almar is a PhD fellow at the Department of Economics and Business Economics at Aarhus University and part of the Platform for Inequality Research at Aarhus University (PIREAU). He holds a master's degree in Economics (Public Policy) from Aarhus University (2022).

Research

Frederik investigates the economic causes of the increasing income inequality. He particularly focuses on individual decisions related to educational program choices, whom to marry (marriage markets), and career choices related to occupational career paths and the division of time between labor supply and home production.

Frederik studies these mechanisms with Danish administrative data, and he applies both microeconometric methods and structural economic models.

His PhD supervisors are Professor Rune Vejlin and Associate Professor Bastian Schulz.

Teaching activities

Frederik has previously been providing teaching assistance in the bachelor's courses Applied Economics and Mathematics for Economists. He has also supervised bachelor's projects.
