My PhD research project is focused on the link between political elite rhetoric and overt prejudice in society, mainly from the perspective of social norms. I am interested in examining the ways political elites, such as politicians, can influence public perceptions with regards to what kind of behavior is deemed socially acceptable in society, and how those individual normative considerations determine public displays of prejudicial behavior.
