In my research, I primarily focus on international political theory, the study of Middle Eastern politics, and the intersection between political science and area studies. In recent years, I have particularly concentrated on Sunni and Shia Islamism in the Middle East, sectarian politics, and the continuity and changes in regional politics in the Middle East.
At the BA level, I am teaching the Intro course to International Relations Theory and various seminars. At the MA level, my seminar courses usually concern topics such as Middle East politics and international relations, sectarian politics, identity politics, Global/post-Western IR, Islamism and religion/politics dynamics.
