My research primarily focuses on cardiometabolic issues and generating new evidence that can be applied in clinical treatment. I have a keen interest in drug repurposing—how already approved medicinal products can be reused for new indications. Additionally, I lead a long-term translational research project on brown bears, where the goal is to transfer protective physiological mechanisms for use in human medicine.
