Christian Montes Schutte is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus University, and a research fellow at the Danish Finance Institute (DFI). He holds a PhD in Economics and Business Economics from Aarhus University (2018).
Christian is teaching a master’s course in Applied Financial Econometrics, which is offered for an MSc. in Finance at the Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus University. The course is 10 ECTS. Christian supervises bachelor theses, master theses, and topic reports as well as Ph.D. theses.

Christian has engaged in several consulting roles and industry projects alongside his academic career. He created a nowcasting model for the OECD to analyze G7 countries' transport and travel trade flows. He co-founded Novalytics, an analytics consultancy, contributing his expertise in advanced statistical analysis. He also worked as a consultant at Hakio, a demand forecasting start up, where he developed a demand forecasting model for a large fashion retailer, further demonstrating his capabilities in predictive analytics.
Currently, he serves as a quantitative advisor and board member for BD Energy, an energy trading firm in Aarhus, where he applies his econometric skills to support strategic decision-making. Christian's experience also extends to consulting for various financial institutions, where he has provided guidance on risk management, investment strategy, and market analysis.
